Lantern festival in Pingxi....

Okay.. more about last Thursday.. after the train trip we arrived in the village of Pinxin. The place was hopping, getting ready for the evening's festivities.. the lantern festival was scheduled to start around 6:30 pm, we arrived in town around 12:30 pm and the town was filling up quick.. some people were already launching lanterns.. they just couldn't wait.. we hit the food..

Train trip South..

This past Thursday we went to Taipei's main train station, and took a trip about an hour South to a small town in the hills, it was the last day of Chinese New Year's and this particular town is famous for their lantern celebration. A few snapshots out the train window..

Note to self..

If you go to the movies in a foreign country.. always be sure the movie is in English... "The Diving Bell and The Butterfly" is a beautifully shot movie, really gorgeous.. but.... it's in French, and the subtitles were in Chinese... well it looked good anyway..
